Robin Hood Half Marathon celebrates an incredible record-breaking race day
Thousands of runners took to the streets of Nottingham for an unforgettable 2026 Robin Hood Half Marathon, with more than £750,000 raised for charity through JustGiving already and this total is only climbing.
The 2026 Robin Hood Half Marathon has once again delivered an incredible day of running, community spirit and fundraising, as thousands of participants took to the streets of Nottingham on Sunday 27 September.
From first-time half marathon runners to seasoned athletes chasing personal bests, participants of all ages and abilities came together to take on the iconic 13.1-mile course, cheered on by enthusiastic crowds lining the streets along the whole route around Nottingham.
The event was marked by an electric atmosphere, with runners passing some of the city's most recognisable landmarks, including Wollaton Hall and Nottingham Castle, before crossing the finish line at Victoria Embankment to the cheers of 1,000’s of supporters.
Alongside the sporting achievements, the event's fundraising efforts have been equally remarkable. More than £750,000 has already been raised through JustGiving alone, with donations continuing to come in. The total highlights the incredible generosity of participants and supporters, many of whom took on the challenge in support of causes close to their hearts.
Judith Manson, Race Director at Robin Hood Half, said:
"What an incredible day! We're immensely proud of everyone who took part in this year's Robin Hood Half Marathon, from those completing their very first half marathon to our elite athletes. We broke so many records from entry numbers to fundraising totals, volunteer turnouts and the biggest crowds along the route ever! The atmosphere throughout the city was fantastic, and seeing so many people come together to achieve their personal goals is what makes this event so special.
"To have raised more than £750,000 through JustGiving already is truly phenomenal and simply the icing on the cake after such an exciting day. Behind every donation is a personal story, and we're incredibly grateful to every runner, partner, supporter and volunteer who has helped make such a difference. The fundraising total is still growing, and we can't wait to see where it finishes."
With the 2026 event now complete, attention is already turning to next year. Entries for the 2027 Robin Hood Half Marathon are now open, giving runners the opportunity to secure their place at one of Nottingham's best-loved and sold-out sporting events. Over 1,000 entries have sold in the first 24 hours after opening for 2027. A true testament to yesterday’s buzz and excitement.
