Make Race Day a Family Affair at the Mini Marathon
The Robin Hood Mini Marathon is a 1.5-mile (approximately 2.5 km) fun run designed for participants of all ages and abilities. It's an excellent opportunity for families, beginners, and seasoned runners seeking a shorter distance to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of race day.
Open to children, adults, and runners of all abilities, the Mini is the perfect way to be part of the big day without taking on the full half marathon distance. Whether you're running with your kids, supporting a great cause, or just soaking up the atmosphere, this short and safe route is packed with energy, encouragement, and entertainment every step of the way.
Expect big smiles, high-fives, and a whole lot of fun – perfect for little legs and first-time finishers!
The Mini Marathon starts at 10:00am, following the Half Marathon. All participants receive chip timing, so whether you walk, jog or sprint, you’ll get an official race time and position to mark your achievement.
Children must be aged 4 or over to take part. Any child under 11 must run with a participating adult – and both must be registered to take part.

Schools Challenge Competition
All children aged 4 to 17 are automatically entered into the Schools Challenge when a school name is included on their Mini Marathon entry form.
Team prizes are awarded in the following age categories: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15, and U17. To qualify, a school must have at least three participants in a category (boys or girls). The top three performing runners in each age group from the top three schools will be invited to a special awards evening, held approximately 6–8 weeks after the event.
Full details of the awards evening will be shared once confirmed.
Please note: all Mini Marathon competition results are based on chip time, not gun time.
Design Our Mini Marathon T-Shirt
The 2025 Mini Marathon T-Shirt Design Competition is now closed – and what an incredible response we had! This year’s creative entries blew us away, and we’re so excited to showcase the winning design on race day.
Each year, this competition gives Mini Marathon entrants the chance to have their artwork featured on the official Mini Marathon t-shirt — proudly worn by up to 2,000 runners.
