RESIDENT INFORMATION

Be proud of your City

As a local resident or business, you may experience some disruption during the race event. To help minimize any inconvenience, please review the information below and explore the links to our detailed pages.

This year marks the 44th running of the Nottingham Marathon Events — a remarkable milestone few cities can boast. It’s a true testament to the spirit of the people who live here. Over these 44 years, the event has raised millions for local charities, attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city, and contributed significantly to the local economy.

We encourage you to embrace the day, get out onto the streets, and cheer on the runners. Yes, there may be some disruption to your usual Sunday routine, but it’s just one day a year—and a day you can be proud to be part of.

The date

On Sunday 28th September 2025, road closures will be in place in certain areas of the city. Please take note of this date, plan ahead, and consider how the event might impact your travel or daily plans.

Things can change

Please check the website for any updates before race day. We kindly ask for your patience with the race teams on the ground—many are volunteers from local charities, clubs, and organizations who generously give their time to support the runners and assist you where they can. While they may not have all the answers, they will do their best and may need to pass your questions on to the event organisers.

Plan your journey

On race day, whether the course passes through your area or not, some parts of the City will be affected by road closures and restrictions for part of the day. The race starts at 9:30am, so most closures will be in place beforehand. For detailed road closure information, please click here.

Don't panic

If you have an urgent commitment on race day—whether you’re a care worker, delivering meals, getting married, or celebrating a special anniversary—the race organisers will do everything possible to help you get where you need to be.

However, it’s essential to let us know in advance, as on the day it may be too late to make arrangements.
