Robin Hood Half Marathon 2026 raises more than £1 million for charity

PRESS RELEASE: Tuesday 27th October 2026

Record-breaking fundraising total more than doubles last year's achievement, as runners, charities and the Nottingham community come together for incredible causes.

The Robin Hood Half Marathon 2026 has raised more than £1 million for charity and good causes, more than doubling the record-breaking fundraising total achieved in 2025.

The phenomenal achievement reflects the generosity, determination and community spirit of thousands of runners, supporters, volunteers and charity partners who came together for one of Nottingham's biggest sporting events.

The 2026 event saw runners take to the streets of Nottingham to tackle the iconic half marathon and raise vital funds for causes close to their hearts. From national charities to smaller local organisations, the fundraising effort will help support a wide range of important work and make a meaningful difference to countless lives.

A particular highlight was the success of headline charity partner Brain Tumour Research, which raised more than £70,000 in its first year working with the Robin Hood Half Marathon.

The partnership brought together runners united by a shared commitment to funding vital research and improving outcomes for people affected by brain tumours. The fundraising total marks an incredible debut for the charity and provides valuable support for its mission to increase investment in research and improve understanding of the disease.

The Robin Hood Half Marathon’s record-breaking fundraising total reflects the incredible commitment of its charity partners, with organisations both new and familiar benefiting from the generosity of runners and supporters. Among the highlights of 2026 were three new charity partners; SummitsUp, The Harley Jae Trust and Harmless, which raised more than £15,000 each in their first year working with the event. Their success demonstrates the power of the Robin Hood Half Marathon to connect charities with new supporters and provide a platform for fundraising that makes a meaningful difference.

The event also saw year-on-year fundraising growth from a range of returning charity partners, most of which doubled against 2025, including Nottingham Hospitals Charity, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Forever Stars, Nottingham Trent University, Imara, When You Wish, Our Dementia Choir, Children’s Bereavement Centre and the Richard Whitehead Foundation. Their continued success highlights the strength of the relationships built through the event and the dedication of runners who take on the challenge for causes close to their hearts. Together, these charities represent a diverse range of causes, supporting people and families across Nottinghamshire and beyond, and underline how the Robin Hood Half Marathon is about far more than the finish line.

Race Director, Judith Manson said:

"We're absolutely blown away that the Robin Hood Half Marathon has raised more than £1 million for charities and good causes this year. To more than double last year's record-breaking total is an incredible achievement and something everyone involved should be immensely proud of.

"Behind every pound raised is a runner with a personal reason to take part, a supporter cheering them on, a volunteer giving up their time or a charity working tirelessly to make a difference. Our event is about so much more than running, and this fundraising milestone really demonstrates the power of our community.

"Thank you to every runner, fundraiser, volunteer, supporter and charity who helped make this possible. We can't wait to see what we can achieve together next year."

Our partnership with JustGiving has been fundamental to this fundraising success, providing the platform and support that enable runners to turn their race-day efforts into meaningful donations. By making it easy for participants to share their fundraising journeys and connect with supporters, JustGiving has helped our charity partners maximise their impact and contribute to this record-breaking total.

The Robin Hood Half Marathon continues to bring the Nottingham community together through sport, celebration and charitable giving. With the 2026 fundraising total setting a new benchmark, the event looks ahead to 2027 with the ambition to build on this extraordinary success.

Entries for the 2027 Robin Hood Half Marathon are open. Runners are invited to secure their place, take on the challenge and help raise even more money for the causes that matter to them.
