PRESS RELEASE: Friday 29th May 2026

Robin Hood Half Marathon on Course for Another Record-Breaking Year as Entries Reach 75% Sold Out

The Robin Hood Half Marathon is on track for another record-breaking year, with entries already 75% sold out more than three months before race day.

Following unprecedented demand in 2025, organisers increased the number of places available for the 2026 event, which takes place on Sunday 27th September. Despite the additional capacity, entries are selling faster than ever, putting the event firmly on course to surpass last year's record-breaking participation numbers.

The Robin Hood Half Marathon has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, with runners drawn to its scenic city-centre route, electric atmosphere and strong community spirit. The event continues to attract runners of all abilities, from first-time half marathon participants to experienced athletes chasing personal bests.

Race Director Judith Manson said:

"The response to the 2026 Robin Hood Half Marathon has been incredible. Last year was our biggest event in recent memory, so we made the decision to increase capacity for 2026 to give more people the opportunity to take part. To already be 75% sold out at this stage is fantastic and shows just how much excitement there is around the event.

"The Robin Hood Half Marathon is a race with a rich history and a special place in Nottingham's sporting calendar. We're seeing huge demand from runners both locally and from across the UK, and we're expecting places to sell out well in advance of race day."

The 2026 event will once again feature the Robin Hood Half Marathon, alongside the popular Mini Marathon and the Nottingham Post Corporate Challenge, creating a memorable day for runners, businesses and families alike. The Corporate Challenge continues to attract teams from across the region, bringing colleagues together to train, fundraise and celebrate their achievements on race day.

As well as providing an unforgettable race-day experience, the event is expected to generate hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities. The 2026 race boasts its largest-ever charity programme, with Brain Tumour Research confirmed as Headline Charity Partner alongside more than 25 regional and national charities benefiting from fundraising efforts.

With a medal reveal generating significant excitement among entrants and a growing number of runners already sharing their training journeys online, momentum continues to build towards race day.

Organisers are encouraging anyone considering taking part to secure their place soon, with entry prices increasing on 1st June and a sell-out announcement anticipated in the coming months.

The Robin Hood Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 27th September 2026.
