Ikano Bank has renewed its commitment to working with Goldline Events to support the Robin Hood Mini Marathon and Schools Challenge. Following a seven year run as the headline sponsor of this iconic and beloved event, today’s announcement is another step forward for Ikano Bank’s support for the event and their commitment to the local community and it’s schools.
As one of the largest events in the Nottingham calendar, the weekend will attract around 12,000 entries across four races on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September 2021. The Robin Hood Mini Marathon in partnership with Ikano Bank is always one of the highlights of the weekend and will see up to 3,000 children, family and friends lace up their trainers to take to the start line on Victoria Embankment. From there the 1.5-mile route largely follows the beautiful river Trent and finishes in front of huge crowds in the race village before each finisher receives a well-earned stunning medal.
Paul O’Leary, Ikano Bank’s UK Country Manager, said:
“The Robin Hood Marathon Events is an excellent event for the people and city of Nottingham. It’s always great to see so many runners, friends and their families come together, to take part and enjoy being active over the course of a weekend.
One special part of the weekend for Ikano is the Robin Hood Mini Marathon which includes the Schools Challenge. From the sea of excited faces at the start to the roar of supporters willing all the runners over the line at the end, it’s always a really impressive event and we’re proud that Ikano Bank can continue to support it by becoming the official partner of the Robin Hood Mini Marathon and Schools Challenge”
Judith Manson, Race Director, adds: “We are extremely proud to partner with Ikano Bank again; to share with them our amazing event as we celebrate 40 years of running in Nottingham. The Mini Marathon is one of the biggest mini-marathon events in the country, the 1.5-mile route is a fun community focused race which sees school children running alongside their parents, friends, siblings, teachers or anyone else that you can persuade. The enthusiasm from the kids, parents, and the schools is always fantastic and we’re so grateful for Ikano Bank’s continued support which will help us encourage more children to be active and enjoy running.”
